Friday Fictioneers: Winter Rose Tea

Winter Rose Tea: A Short Story for Rochelle Wisoff-Fields' Friday Fictioneers

The witch was surprised the rosebush had lasted so long; that was the first time she had tried a plant spell. Spring was almost at the door, the snow was melting, and still, the roses kept their vibrant orange colour. They had lasted the whole winter season, ready to be picked for her final project. In case you were unaware, witches are usually great at brewing tea. This particular one was eager to create her own winter rose tea for her potions class, which she was currently failing. She was not going to be pleased by the petal-eating aphids’ visit.
